Project management

Yellie Alkema has initiated and led numerous projects over the years, including for the establishment of SYARK, during its period at DHV (Royal Haskoning) and as a spatial planning advisor for the Province of Drenthe.

Part of the project management can be learned and on the other hand you can clearly see if it suits someone, on the one hand to monitor the main lines, to make quick decisions, to take the lead in consultations, to cope with crises, to be accountable, informing managers and supervisors on a timely basis, putting entrepreneurship among the team members and motivating people. On the other hand, a project manager should not lose sight of details, be keen on agreements and deadlines, have everyone on time and keep track of them and monitor progress. In the case of EU projects, the accurate reporting and attention is also given to the visibility of the project to the public or 'dissemination of results'. SYARK keeps an eye on both the process and the project progress.
